Remote Environmental Monitoring

Environmental Monitoring

Environmental Monitoring in ArcticThe environmental monitoring application delivered by the SymBot platform is designed to monitor weather data including: temperature, humidity, wind speed, solar radiation, rainfall and other environmental parameters. These remote deployments are powered by solar, with one station powered by a prototype hybrid solar/wind power system.

Applications for Symbot in Environmental Monitoring

  • Autonomous Weather Stations
  • Arctic Weather Stations
  • Climatological Weather Stations
  • Precipitation/Rainfall/Snowfall Stations
  • Research Specific Weather Stations
  • Air Quality Stations
  • Custom Applications

Unlike existing technologies that only log data, the SymBot platform provides additional data compression, data analysis and decision support at the device level. It stores raw data within its 16GB capacity, but importantly it transmits either specified raw or analyzed data based on user requirements and budget.

The SymBot platform is currently deployed in the harsh Canadian Arctic on the Northern region of Baffin Island and has demonstrated a quick ROI by minimizing costly remote site visits.
