FedNor Minister Greg Rickford today announced a Government of Canada investment that will help a small local business become more competitive, expand into new markets, and create jobs.
FedNor funding of $13,279 will enable Symboticware Incorporated to complete an operational assessment to improve its manufacturing and assembly processes, while ensuring its products meet international quality and safety standards.
- Symboticware Incorporated is a private company that specializes in products for real-time monitoring and safety control systems for the mining industry, as well as harsh northern regions.
- Through its Targeted Manufacturing Initiative for Northern Ontario, FedNor supports the development and growth of the region’s manufacturing sector by helping companies to assess the need for productivity improvements and modernize their operations.
- Since 2006, through FedNor’s Northern Ontario Development Program, the Government of Canada has invested more than $308 million in support of 1,500 projects. These investments have created more than 15,000 jobs throughout Northern Ontario.
